Frequent Questions

Have you ever had a question and didn’t know where to find the answer? If so, you’ve come to the right place.

This section is a compilation of answers to the questions most commonly asked by our constituents. Just start by following one of the links below. If you can’t find the question you wanted to ask, don’t hesitate to contact us.

  1. What does your organization do?

UAACOG is a 501-C3 non-profit organization that provides community services in Chaffee, Custer, Fremont, and Lake Counties. Several of UAACOG's individual programs serve communities in other counties including Huerfano, Park, Teller, and Saguache. Major programs offered by UAACOG include: Head Start, Area Agency on Aging, WIC (Women, Infants, and Children), housing assistance programs (Section 8, Housing Counseling, Home Repair, and Self-Help), business loans, and transportation.

  2. Tax Deductible Donations?

UAACOG is a 501-C3 non-profit organization. Yes, your donations are tax deductible. Is your passion for early childhood education? Then your donation can specifically go to Head Start. Do you want to help improve the lives of women, infants and children? Then make your donation specifically to the WIC Program. If you have any questions, please call our main office at 719-275-8350 or access one of the many secure donation buttons on this website.

  3. The "COG's" responsibility to the communities served means we must be transparent with our actions. To that end, the annual report and financial audits are available for public access on our financial page. Also on that page is a copy of our 501-C3 certificate of designation from the IRS. Donors can choose how their donated funds are spent. As an example, one couple wanted their donation to help increase medical training and employment in only one county served. Their donation was spent in accordance with their wishes. It is your money. You choose how it is spent!

  4. What is your organization's privacy policy?

Our organization takes our privacy policy seriously and takes steps to protect and ensure the safety of our supporters. We do not sell or otherwise disclose information about our volunteers or supporters outside of our immediate organization. This policy has no exceptions. We do not sell or exchange your information with any other organizations, public, private or nonprofit. For more detailed information visit our Privacy Policy page. We, however, would love to tell the world of your generosity! Any donor wishing to be recognized will be highlighted on our website for a minimum of 30 days. UAACOG requires a signed consent to release information for us to post your name, city, and picture (if provided) on our site.
