Temporary Emergency Food Assistance

Boxes full of donated food stacked on other boxes of donated foodThe Emergency Food Assistance Program provides food to eligible households in Fremont County monthly. While the available food changes from month to month, it generally consists of canned goods and other shelf stable items.

This program is federally funded U.S. Department of Agriculture program that provides USDA foods to low-income households. This program is offered in partnership with Care and Share and the Colorado Department of Human Services. Distribution times are from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on the below listed dates.

Enter through the alley off of 8th Street from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. (or until food is gone)

There are two distributions each month on Mondays and Wednesdays

  • February 13, 2023 and February 22, 2023
  • March 13, 2023 and March 22, 2023
  • April 10, 2023 and April 26, 2023
  • May 8, 2023 and May 24, 2023
  • June 12, 2023 and June 28, 2023

  • August 14, 2023 and August 23, 2023
  • September 11, 2023 and September 27, 2023
  • October 9, 2023 and October 25, 2023
  • November 13, 2023 and November 22, 2023

2023 Income Eligibility Guidelines

If you have a combined gross income that doesn't exceed the maximum income limit for the applicable household sizes listed below, you qualify!

Also, if you are a Colorado resident, you can automatically qualify for TEFAP if you're enrolled in any of the following programs: Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), SNAP (formerly Food Stamps), Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Old Age Pension (OAP), Ald to Needy Disables (AND), Ald to Blind (AB), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid Eligible Foster Children
