Temporary Emergency Food Assistance

Boxes full of donated food stacked on other boxes of donated foodThe Emergency Food Assistance Program provides food to eligible households in Fremont County monthly. While the available food changes from month to month, it generally consists of canned goods and other shelf stable items.

This program is federally funded U.S. Department of Agriculture program that provides USDA foods to low-income households. This program is offered in partnership with Care and Share and the Colorado Department of Human Services. Distribution times are from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on the below listed dates.

Enter through the alley off of 8th Street from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. (or until food is gone)

There are two distributions each month on Mondays and Wednesdays

The 2024 Commodities Distribution Schedule includes the following dates for each month:

  • January: Monday 8th and Wednesday 24th
  • February: Monday 12th and Wednesday 28th
  • March: Monday 11th and Wednesday 27th
  • April: Monday 8th and Wednesday 24th
  • May: Monday 13th and Wednesday 22nd
  • June: Monday 10th and Wednesday 26th
  • July: Monday 8th and Wednesday 24th
  • August: Monday 12th and Wednesday 28th
  • September: Monday 9th and Wednesday 25th
  • October: Monday 14th and Wednesday 23rd
  • November: Monday 11th; no distribution in late November
  • December: Monday 9th; no distribution in late December
Income Eligibility Guidelines
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

If you have a combined gross income that doesn't exceed the maximum income limit for the applicable household sizes listed below, you qualify!

Also, if you are a Colorado resident, you can automatically qualify for TEFAP if you're enrolled in any of the following programs: Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), SNAP (formerly Food Stamps), Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Old Age Pension (OAP), Ald to Needy Disables (AND), Ald to Blind (AB), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid Eligible Foster Children
