UAACOG’s Home Repair Program provides affordable loans to low-income homeowners in Chaffee, Custer, Fremont, Lake, Park and Teller Counties. The loans repair owner-occupied homes — leaking roofs, electrical and heating systems, plumbing and septic, sagging floors, crumbling foundations, fire mitigation, accessibility and other safety concerns — and can also pay for energy efficiency upgrades. UAACOG partners with the Colorado Division of Housing to provide this assistance.

Our goal is to make this process as friendly and easy as possible, so please do not worry about filling everything in perfectly. Several staff members are available to help you with any application, loan or construction question, and anything you leave out can be sorted out at your intake appointment.

Take your step towards the American Dream of homeownership today! In the Self-Help Program, participants contribute significant “sweat equity” towards the construction of their own homes, bringing down development costs and producing a more affordable home. Each family contributes a minimum number of hours of labor per week until every house in the group is finished and ready to move into, and a construction supervisor guides the homeowners and coordinates the build.

This short pre-application worksheet lets USDA Rural Development make a preliminary decision about whether you might qualify for the home loan program. If you are approved through the pre-application, we will contact you to complete the full Rural Development loan application.
