Position Title: Lead Teacher

Program: Fremont County Head Start

Employment Type: Full-Time

Hours: 40 hours per week

Schedule: Monday through Thursday.

Rate of Pay: $17.50 - $20.50 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Position Description

UAACOG Fremont County Head Start is hiring a dynamic and experienced Lead Teacher for our Early Childhood Program in Cañon City. The Lead Teacher runs the daily life of the classroom, delivers the curriculum, and is responsible for the safety and well-being of every child in their care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
  • Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
  • Take responsibility for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs.
  • Implement lesson plans and curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development.
  • Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care for the children.

Required Qualifications

  • An associate's degree or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, OR an associate's degree or bachelor's degree with 12 Early Childhood Education credits completed.
  • A Level 2 Colorado Early Childhood credential can qualify if you are willing to enroll in an associate's degree program.
  • Two years of verifiable and relevant experience.

Education & Experience

An associate's degree or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, or an associate's degree or bachelor's degree with 12 Early Childhood Education credits completed. A Level 2 Colorado Early Childhood credential can qualify if you are willing to enroll in an associate's degree program. Two years of verifiable and relevant experience.
