CSBG Emergency Funds

The total number of the families served in our counties in 2019 was 115; the number of individuals in the household was 223. 

Community Services Block Grant (CSBG)

UAACOG receives the Community Services Block Grant funds for the region. UAACOG subcontracts funds to Lake and Custer counties.  The Federal Objective in all of the counties is helping to provide emergency services in the counties served by UAACOG. 

UAACOG provides direct services to Fremont & Chaffee County residents. The funds are used for rent to prevent eviction, mortgage payments, utilities, eye glasses, prescriptions, dental and varies other services.

Where to go to apply for CSBG Funds:

Fremont County residents may apply at UAACOG, 3224-A Independence Rd., Canon City

Custer County residents may apply at Custer County Department of Human Services, 205 S. 6th St., Westcliffe.

Chaffee County Residents may apply at Area Agency on Aging, 139 E. 3rd St., Salida. 

Lake County residents may apply at Lake County Public Health Agency, 825 W. 6th St., Leadville.

Please note that the eligibility criteria for receiving CSBG funds is income based.  As noted in the application, you must include all income in the household. As an example if you are 26 years old and living with your parents (who both work) and a friend lives with them (and the friend works), your income statement needs to include your parents and their friend plus whatever income you have, it is not based on your income alone.
