- Position Title: 502 Loan Officer and Self-Help Housing Associate

Position Description: Processing all Housing Rehabilitation loans, from application to closing, for Fremont, Custer, Chaffee and Lake Counties. Assist Housing Director with the outreach, recruitment and certification of Self-Help participants. Will work closely with the Self-Help participants during all phases of the Self-Help process from outreach through construction completion. Assist Housing Director in other areas of the Housing Department as needed and directed.
Requirements: Must have knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures for commercial loans, credit counseling and counseling of both. Must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must possess the ability to work with people of varying professional, cultural, social and economic backgrounds. Must have organizational skills. Must have operational knowledge of computer applications and programs including MS Office. Have good math and problem-solving skills. A High School diploma or GED. Continuing education includes college/university course work.

JOB DUTIES
- Manage the full cycle of Rehab Loans from recruiting applicants to loan closing
- Maintain accurate files and records of all loan (client) files as described in the HOME and CDBG guidebooks
- Keep accurate records of all loan payments in coordination with the Finance Department
- Recruit potential Self-Help housing applicants, review eligibility standards, prepare and assist potential participants toward certification as a borrower
- Responsible for organization of Self-Help construction groups, assistant in development of membership agreements, work assignments and promissory notes
- Meet regularly with participating members and the group
- As directed by Housing Director, shall participate in public meetings and serve on committees to stimulate efforts of national, local, and private housing agencies and to emphasize housing needs of low-income families

COMPENSATION
Starting Salary: $55,000.00 per year.
