Administration
UAACOG is a non-profit agency
established for the purpose of uniting local governments in mutually
beneficial activities that better serve communities on a regional basis than on
an individual basis. UAACOG provides technical assistance to counties,
cities, and special districts in meeting the growing demands placed on them by
area growth and declining energy markets.
Assistance in grant preparation,
project development, administration, community development, and assistance on
financial packaging of projects and programs is available. Examples of projects
planned in the region over the next few months are leadership in workforce
development, continued regional recycling efforts, workforce housing options,
business park development, and regional 208 water planning and river restoration
activities.
UAACOG also reviews state and
federal grant applications originating within Region 13 and provides feedback to
local government applicants to foster the improvement of grant requests
submitted. As part of this effort UAACOG periodically offers grantsmanship
training to local governments and non-profits. UAACOG also maintains a resource
library of social/economic data, grant programs and other funding sources for
use by local governments.
